Peter Costello’s budget announcement has led to rejoicing for small businesses, but the lack of joy for those pushing for radical corporate taxation reform has led to many businesses asking “what about us?”

Personal taxation and small business have been the big winners after this year’s federal budget. Although dampened by the twin economic threats of rising interest rates and petrol prices, there should be a reasonable amount of real income savings for both low and high income earners, with those receiving Medicare, or a superannuation benefit, privy to an even lower level of taxation (0% for those on super benefits).

Small business also has benefited from the Howard government’s 11th annual budget, with them receiving a higher level of reducing depreciation, leading to a higher level of deductions in the years following the uptake of new technology or other capital. They are also privy to a AU$435 million dollar tax cut to compensate for their changing accounting requirements under the government’s new AIFRS reporting standards, as well as increasing the uptake of both the small business tax relief scheme and CGT (Capital Gains tax) Concessions.

The budget was not a complete loss for big business however, as superannuation laws have been tweaked to streamline contribution and payment rules previously impeding those with multitudes of staff.

But this is not enough, says Big 4 accounting firm Ernst & Young. In their newly published paper “Taxation of Investment in Australia: the need for ongoing reform”. In it they lead the charge for a greater streamlining and organization of the corporate tax system in Australia, submitting that it will lead to reductions in “disincentives to work save and invest in Australia [as well as improving] the international competitiveness of Australian businesses.” This follows from a recent report brought out by Mr. Costello himself about the need for tax reform in Australia.

A budget night Mr. Costello was notably coy about any future reform of corporate tax in Australia. He alluded to the report by his ministers but kept from outlining the government’s plan precisely.

In the Opening Day of 2008 AutoTronics Taipei (April 9), the Industrial Technology Research Institute of Taiwan (ITRI) invited Jamie C. Hsu (Consultant of Ministry of Economic Affairs of the Republic of the China and Former Management Executive Director of General Motors Global Technology) for a speech in the “Pavilion of Taiwan Automotive Research Consortium (TARC)” to forecast the future of automobile industry in Taiwan, which echoed the “Taiwan Automotive International Forum & Exhibition”, held at TWTC Nangang in conjunction with 2008 Taipei AMPA.

Before the main show, Department of Industrial Technology of Ministry of Economic Affairs supervised the establishment of TARC by ITRI, Chung-Shan Institute of Science and Technology, Metal Industries Research & Development Center, and the other academical and industrial units to improve the level of research and development including applications on security, artificial intelligence, and energy-saving.

There were several crisis for the automobile industry in Taiwan because of the decrease of market scale, low self-independence, technology transition, and the rise up of oil prices. But after in conjunction with light-weighting, electronical, and energy-saving related industries, there were other chances and challenges for the automobile industry in Taiwan. Currently, the Taiwan Automotive Research Consortium should do a proper role on R&D, policy driving, and quality improving, even though urban and rural differences, and key issue of carbon dioxide wasting, if there is a new innovation, Taiwan will be a good example in the automobile industry in the world.

It seems that Jordan Brand aficionados have forgotten all about the Fall and Winter releases and have become busy circling potential Jordan release 2015 dates on their calendars. Recently, Jordan Brand had announced that new initiatives are going to be taken to ensure that the authenticity and quality of their original releases are maintained with the retros that will be released next year. Apparently, a big role will be played by Jordan 10 in the Spring 2015 Air Jordan retro line, and the Red Cement colorway is just one example.

This summer, it seems that there is never ending line of colorways from Jordan Brand, considering that quite a few renditions of various colorways have already been seen in these past couple of weeks. As for this retro d Jordan 10 version, it features contrast black tumbled leather at the collar, eyestays and tongue over an otherwise all-red premium leather upper. This has been combined with a grey outsole with a cement-like design.

Since this pair is an upcoming remastered version, readers may be wondering what the original looked like. Well, despite any obvious differences, this Red Cement colorway is fairly similar to the Fusion Red colorway of Jordan 10 that was released last year for smaller foot sneakerheads.

Even Teyana Taylor, the actress and recording artist, had expressed her approval of the Fusion Red kicks. A bold fusion red colorway was featured throughout the upper. Similarly, much like this Red Cement pair, the only the other color seen on the Fusion Red AJ 10 was black, present on t he lace area, laces, and the Jumpan logo. The sole of the Fusion Red pair, which is black and red, is perhaps the biggest feature that distinguishes it from this Red Cement pair.

23 is Back release dates will obviously be keeping readers updated about all Jordan kicks that have yet to be released this year. However, as mentioned, Jordan sneakerheads have already become busy scouring the web for Jordan release 2015 news, including news of this remastered Jordan 10 Red Cement.

On April Fool s day this year, many sneaker enthusiasts got excited when Jordan Brand unveiled a fake Jordan 6 concept, especially because it was being reported that the inspiration for the kicks came from Drake. Despite initially being an April Fool s Day joke, according to scheduled Jordan release dates 2014, Jordan 6 OVO will be fittingly released this October, considering that OVO stands for October s Very Own.

23 is Back confirms that this is no longer a rumor and the pair will indeed be making its retail debut in October. Apparently, Drake is the one who made the design of this pair, borrowing the similar black and gold colors seen on previous Jordan OVO colorways. However, unlike the previous Jordan 10 and 12 OVO colorways, sneakerheads believe that this upcoming pair looks the best among them.

The upcoming Jordan 6 OVO will come with a black nubuck upper with gold accents on a variety of parts, such as the lace, the lining and the midsole. Several icy blue elements can also be seen on the outsole, and the heel of the shoe has a gold OVO owl etched on it. Indeed, this Black/Gold colorway looks quite classy.

About the Author: Welcome, 23 is back shares this anticipation and is excited with the jordan release dates 2014 with you……More jordan release 2014 in:

Israel has tested its readiness for a state of war and emergency by testing its emergency services and shelters on a national scale.

The drill is to be analyzed in order to determine the elements which need to be corrected and fixed, and Israel’s emergency readiness is to be assessed.

Israeli school children were told to hide under their school tables as part of the drill, which officials claimed to be the biggest drill ever in Israeli history.

Syria has claimed, in return, that the drill is intended as a battle readiness exercise and claims that Israel is preparing for war.

On Monday, the person responsible for changing the Hollywood sign in California to read “Hollyweed” as a new year’s prank turned himself in to local authorities. 30-year-old artist Zachary Cole Fernandez surrendered himself, the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) said.

According to LAPD, Fernandez went to the police station accompanied by his lawyer, where he confessed to have changed the sign and was bailed out shortly thereafter for US$1000. LAPD charged Fernandez with trespassing; earlier reports indicated vandalism charges were ruled out as he used black and white tarps to alter the letter “O” to read lowercase “e”. The sign was not physically damaged.

A court hearing is scheduled for February 15. Fernandez said this act was an art project, and claimed he faces up to six months in prison if convicted. It took Fernandez two hours to alter the sign. Regarding conviction, he said, “I’m a person of integrity. If I do something wrong, I will own up to it.”

Exactly 41 years ago, on the same date in 1976, then-university student Daniel Finegood modified the sign to read “Hollyweed” for an art class assignment. Finegood returned to change the sign again in 1990, spelling out “Oil War” to protest against the First Persian Gulf War. Fernandez, on Tuesday, said his act was to “bring light and positivity and happiness”. He said he was inspired by Finegood’s modification to the sign.

City Councilman David Ryu said in a statement. “Pranks of this nature deplete the resources of our valuable public safety personnel”.

The term “weed” is an English slang term for cannabis, a banned drug in many countries. On November 9, a ballot for legalising recreational use of cannabis in California for the age group of 21 and above was passed. The law legalising recreational cannabis is due to come into effect in 2018.

It has been nearly 27 years since Nicole, then a high school student from the Saarland in extreme western Germany, sang a heartfelt plea for world peace on the stage at the Eurovision Song Contest held in Harrogate, North Yorkshire in the United Kingdom. That simple message was wrapped with success; she became the first German in Contest history to take home the grand prize. The song was a brainchild of her former record producer, Ralph Siegel, and would be their greatest achievement in their nearly three-decade partnership.

Afterward, she was propelled to stardom across Europe by recording versions of her winning song, “Ein bißchen Frieden” (A little peace), in many European languages. To this day, it was the last winning Eurovision song to top the charts in the United Kingdom; it also has the distinction of being the 500th #1 single on the British charts.

This newfound fame brought her music to audiences across Europe, and in time, into Asia as well. By the end of the 1980s, however, her fame subsided somewhat and she refocused her career domestically. Since 1980, she has released over 30 albums in Germany; her most recent offering, Mitten ins Herz (Right into your heart), was accompanied by a three-month “unplugged” tour that ended in the third week of January.

Now off the road, Nicole spoke with Wikinews’ Mike Halterman about her past success, her life and career today, and her overall impressions of the Eurovision Song Contest, both past and present. This is the first in a series of interviews with past Eurovision contestants, which will be published sporadically in the lead-up to mid-May’s next contest in Moscow.

The Tongan government has extended the state of emergency in the capital, Nuku?alofa, for another month.

The move has been criticised as unnecessary by the chairman of the Tonga Civil Society Forum, Drew Havea. He says that life is now back to normal in the capital, and blames a group of Nuku?alofa businessmen for the rollover.

“We are not sure why they are taking that particular action because we don’t see any issue but that’s their right. If they want to petition for rolling over these emergency regulations, there’s not much we can do, on our part,” he said.

The emergency regulations were originally put in place two and a half years ago, as a response to the 2006 Nuku’alofa riots, and have been renewed monthly ever since. They give police wide powers to search, detain and arrest people without warrant within Nuku?alofa’s CBD in order to protect public safety.

Central Nuku?alofa was severely damaged by pro-democracy riots on November 17, 2006.
