The planet of tools and hardware might seem overwhelming to the uninformed eye. However, among the myriad options available, some brands stand out in their performance and quality. One such brand is DEWALT – a renowned name in the world of power tools. Among their impressive lineup, one tool shines brightly – the 20 Volt DEWALT Drill.

Robust, powerful, and efficient, the 20 Volt DEWALT Drill is a testament to the manufacturing prowess of the company. Its sheer performance and adaptability distinguish it from other products of its kind. If there’s a power tool that can transform your work from good to great, it is undoubtedly the 20 Volt DEWALT Drill.

The 20 Volt DEWALT Drill has an innate capacity of boring into Hard Metals. Not all power drills can handle the toughness and rigidity of these metals, but DEWALT’s 20 Volt edition is not your regular drill. Design and engineering have played a crucial role in equipping this tool with the power it needs to breach even the toughest of surfaces. This capability is, in part, due to its high-torque motor that can deliver a whopping 300 unit watts out (UWO). Besides, this tool offers a range of speed options – from 0-500/0-1750 RPM – making it suitable for a wide range of drilling applications.

The 20 Volt DEWALT Drill is also designed keeping ergonomics in mind. Weighing just a tad above 3.5 pounds, it ensures optimal user comfort and less fatigue. Its compact design makes it easy to handle and operate, even in tighter spaces. This makes it an ideal power tool for both professional contractors and DIY enthusiasts. Furthermore, the inclusion of an LED light makes working in low light conditions a walk in the park.

Moreover, versatility is a key characteristic of the 20 Volt DEWALT Drill. Whether you are working on a wood, metal, concrete, or plastic surface, the DEWALT drill guarantees a performance marked by precision and power. Furthermore, the drill comes with a 20 Volt Max Lithium-ion battery that not only provides extended run time, but also exhibits minimal self-discharge and zero memory effect.

On a safety note, the 20 Volt DEWALT Drill features a metal-gear housing for job site durability and reliable operation. This debunks the myth that power tools cannot be sturdy. To top it off, DEWALT offers a 3-year limited warranty on this product, further confirming the company’s confidence in their product’s durability and reliability.

Understanding the importance of added convenience, the 20 Volt DEWALT Drill also comes with a bag for easy storage and transportation. Few power tools take into consideration the storage and mobility aspects, but clearly, DEWALT has put thought into every aspect of design and user experience.

In conclusion, the 20 Volt DEWALT Drill lies in a class of its own. With its sheer power, functionality and versatility, it is a tool that will surely supercharge your productivity. Powerfully durable to handle even Hard Metals, ergonomically designed for comfort, and consistently reliable, this DEWALT model is an outstanding investment for both occasional and frequent tool users. With the 20 Volt DEWALT Drill, you are not just buying a tool; you are buying an assurance of quality and world-class performance.

Mark holes on the wall tile

Summary –

The PorcelainPlus Speedbit was specifically designed for drilling through hard surfaces such as porcelain tile, marble, granite and quartz along with ceramic tile, glass and mirrors.

Body –

Starting at the beginning, measure where you want your shower curtain rod or grab bar, and hold the item in place so you can mark the exact spots where to drill the holes. Have a helper check the level and placement, because you only get one shot at this.

Ideally, you will drill into a stud to provide the support you need, especially when installing a grab bar. If you don’t, the bar may pull out and someone could be injured. So grab your stud finder and crack a cheesy joke about it before locating the two-by-fours behind your shower wall.

Begin to drill through tile

Once you’ve marked the holes, fill up the water containment piece, and keep a wrung-out sponge and bucket of water handy. Place the guide where you want to drill the hole, filled with water, and drill with a slow steady pull of the trigger, nice and easy at first, until you feel the bit grab the tile.

I usually pump the bit out and back in every 6 seconds so the water can cool it. Be sure the containment unit holds water the whole time. Take your time and keep drilling steadily until you feel it give and know you’ve pushed through the tile.

Repeat this process patiently and consistently for all the holes you need, and then test fit the bar again to make sure you got it right.

Seal the shower tile holes

Next, dry off the area, including the holes, and get your silicone ready. It’s extremely important to fill the holes with clear silicone before you screw the bar in. You want to maintain the waterproofing in the shower.

Fill holes in your tile with silicone before installing a shower curtain rod or grab bars.

I also like to put a bead of silicone where the bar attaches for extra support and water resistance.

Keep a rag handy, because silicone is not water-soluble and will make a real mess if it drips where it shouldn’t. Mineral spirits, however, can clean up silicone before it dries.

Once you have filled the holes and applied the silicone, you can screw in your bar. Don’t over tighten it or you could crack the tile. Screw it in just enough to hold firmly. Once you have all your screws in, give it a little tug to ensure it’s solid. Let the silicone cure for 24 hours before use.

If you follow these guidelines, you’ll have a secure grab bar or shower curtain rod, and you will finally be able to use that beautiful new shower.
